5 years. How do you do an epilogue for those 5 years? It's pretty much an ICYMI post, but if you've followed most social media platforms, you've pretty much seen a synopsis of what's happened since 2015. In the blink of an eye, we've had 2 HS graduations, 1 college graduation, 1 Naval officer commissioning, 1 8th grade promotion, 2 separate job changes, 1 move to another county, many birthdays, added/lost in our pet family, lost many of our family elders, added a son in law, saw 2 separate deployments for our kid and her man, participated in a global pandemic, and through it all, have a family that is still strong and thriving despite all that life has thrown at us.
Many would say that 2020 has been a year to beat all years in terms of craziness. For us, 2019 prepared us very well for what 2020 has thrown down. While we're looking forward to 2021, I'll take it with a grain of salt. You can unpack that whatever way you see fit. 2020 Values and ideologies are just so far apart that it may be difficult to find that neutral footing that keeps us all bonded together in many things so 2021 is bound to be more of the same.
So, instead of an epilogue, I would say this is more of the prologue. The story has yet to be written and this backstory, while it sets evertything up, may be a diversion... We have no idea what is to come. Let's move forward together to see where it all goes.
